Fitness Tip: So many people use the excuse is the reason why I have gained so much weight or I am over weight is because my metabolism is not as fast as it was when I was a teenager or when I was in my early 20’s.
I’ve heard many people older than 30 say this: “Back in the day I could get away with anything I wanted in terms of eating.” Well that is partly true!
But the real truth it is right after the age of 25 years every 10 years your metabolism drops at least 2 to 4 % and the only way to truly combat the natural metabolic decline that happens with after the age of 25 is being on a consistent (aerobic&anaerobic) exercise and sensible balanced nutritional program.
From a long term perspective metabolic decline is typically more lifestyle related than age related.
If you preserve your lean muscle mass than you will preserve your resting metabolic rate which in turn will help you with weight management and weight loss whichever is your fitness goal.
The only way to preserve all of this collectively is through exercise and eating the right way consistently. Not New year resolution time but all year round.
